This painting evolved from an abstract composition painted immediately after the November 2024 election. In its early stage, the flowers were merely three circular organic shapes, surrounded by lots of nonsensical scribbles. Over time, the composition transformed into a quieter meditation on perseverance.
The title is inspired by Maya Angelou’s poem, Still I Rise.
The sides are painted, so there’s no need for a frame. A sawtooth hanger is attached on the back. Signed on the right-hand edge of the canvas.
