Oil paints had always felt intimidating to me, but I loved the way they looked and I wanted to learn. I read books and watched videos and completely overwhelmed myself. So I took the advice of Curly — that sage from the movie, City Slickers. He said the secret of life was ‘just one thing,’ and that it was up to me to figure out what that one thing was. For me, it was one object in the middle of a 6” x 6” canvas.
The two last images in the gallery below, Moderation and Creativity, were painted in Golden Open acrylics rather than oil, due to concerns about drying time.
